1. Globacom has launched a new International Direct Dialing (IDD) promotion which allows its subscribers to enjoy 50 percent discount on calls made to popular international destinations. 2. MoboFree.com, an online social marketplace in Nigeria and Africa has introduced a technology solution for advertising in the next general elections. The solution, according to MoboFree, is targeted at Nigerian brands, which have the largest online population in Africa with over 56 million internet users. 3. The School of Media and Communication of the Pan-Atlantic University has officially launched the Centenary Project mobile app powered by the Google Cultural Institute. The Centenary Project is an innovative initiative aimed at digitally archiving various aspects of Nigeria’s creative and cultural history and visually showcasing them to a large audience through various digital media platforms. 4. Research and Markets has announced the addition of the “Employee Benefits in Nigeria” report to their offering. This report provides a detailed analysis of employee benefits in Nigeria and offers a detailed analysis of the key government-sponsored employee benefits, along with private benefits. 5. The Federal Government has concluded plans to privatise eight new entities in some sectors of the economy by 2015. These sectors include: Railway; Inland waterways; Road Authority; Roads Funds; National Transport Commission; Ports & Harbour reform; Federal Competition and Consumer Protection and Postal bill. 6. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said that it would commence disbursement of the N212 billion Nigeria Electricity Market Stabilisation Facility (NEMSF). 7. Eczellon Capital has said that it would invest $250 million private equity fund in un­listed enterprises with high capital growth potentials over the medium to long-term.  According to the company in a statement, the fund is meant for projects in energy, infrastructure and a few oth­er active sectors in the evolv­ing West African economy. 8.Several indigenous companies taking part in the supply of products for building Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited’s six new ships, are expected to realise about $10 million (N1.8 billion) in revenues. 9. Lekoil, the Technical and Financial Partner in the Otakikpo project and its partner, Green Energy, have secured approvals for the well re-entry plan. 10. Etisalat has said this year has been good for its business in the country. Centre Manager, Marina Flagship Experience Centre, Oluwaseyi Ayebiwo, who spoke on the sideline with The Nation said in six years of its operation, it has achieved the 20 million subscriber milestone.
