1. United Kingdom Export Finance
(UKEF), an arm of the UK Government that works as an export credit agency, has named Ecobank Nigeria as one of its partnering financial institutions to help deliver £3 billion Direct Lending Facility (DLF) support to UK exporters.

Business Traveller Awards held at London Hilton on Park Lane on October 6, British Airways won awards for Best Airline, Best Short-Haul Carrier and Best Frequent Flyer Programme, while Emirates took home the awards for Best Long-Haul Carrier, Best First Class and Best Middle Eastern Airline.

completion and operation of the Lekki port in Lagos in 2016 will grow the national economy by contributing $20 billion (about N31.15 trillion), a source close to the project promoters has said.

Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has told the international financial community that the Nigerian economy created in 2013, a total of 1.2 million jobs. He stated that about 91 per cent of those jobs were created by the private sector.

six companies have fetched their investors capital appreciation of over 50 per cent. Premier Breweries Plc led with the highest capital appreciation of 442 per cent as the equity grew from N0.77 at the beginning of the year to N4.18 as at last Friday.

Three children emerged recipients of this year’s Indomie Independence Day Awards, a Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, which held in Lagos at the weekend. The winners of this year, which is the 7th edition of IIDA’s awards, are 15-year-old Aniema Udokang from Cross River, helped save an accident victim on IBB way in Calabar; 14-year-old Semiya Modashiru helped save the lives of two babies by apprehending and confronting a kidnapper at a bus garage in Ogijo while 10 yrs old Bassey Itam helped a boy bitten by a snake.
10. In response to the current housing deficit of 17 million units,
the Federal Government, through its various agencies, has embarked on programmes geared towards providing one million houses annually.
