The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Amavubi of Rwanda in Group A of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers after the Rwandans defeated Congo 4-3 on penalties, booking their place in the next round of the qualifiers. Rwanda turned a 2-0 first leg deficit to beat the Congolese team on penalties. Michel Ndahinduka and Meddie Kagere both scored in the 55th and 60th minute respectively to level the series 2-2 on aggregate. The team then went on to triumph 4-3 on penalties to book a date with the Super Eagles on September 5th or 6th.
Nigeria was drawn in Group A to play South Africa, Sudan and the winner between Rwanda and Congo in the 2015 AFCON Qualifiers. The Super Eagles are the reigning African Champions and will be hoping for a good run in the qualifiers to defend their crown in Morocco.
