The
Nigeria Customs Volleyball Team has departed Abuja ahead of the
Africa Club Championship taking place in
Cairo, scheduled to run from
4th to 16th of March.
Speaking on the efficiency and preparedness of the squad for the championship games, Head Coach of the Nigeria Customs Volleyball Team, Usman Abdullahi, said:
“We are going for an inter club Africa Volleyball championship that is coming up in Cairo, Egypt. We have been in camp for two weeks and the training have been very good because the players are responding. We are lucky that our players have been training so we have less job to do in preparing for this particular competition. I am hoping that we will do well in this competition because we have a mixture of new and old players. Some players in the national team are part of the team to share their experiences with the younger players.”
A ready team
Abdullahi also added that the team had played quite a number of friendlies in preparation for the championship games, and the matches helped greatly in the selection of the final set of players who will be representing the club in Cairo.
In concluding, he also expressed his gratefulness to the comptroller general of the Nigeria Custom Service for providing all the requirements of the team for the championship.
