  World-renowned Nigerian economist and development expert, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, and seven other Nigerians made the cut for this year’s 100 Most Reputable Africans list. A total of eight Nigerians made the ‘roll of honour’ which was released on the website of Reputation Poll International (organizers of the annual event) on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. The Chief Judge of  Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT, Abuja), Justice Ishaq Bello, also made the list which was arranged alphabetically and comprised of 53 men and 47 women from various sectors such as business, leadership, entertainment, education, and advocacy.

Nigerian businesswoman and philanthropist, Folorunsho Alakija; first Nigerian to be the President of the African Development Bank (AFDB), Akinwumi Adesina; Nigerian business mogul, philanthropist and Chairman, Forte Oil PLC, Femi Ortedola; and Public Policy Expert, Tony Ojobo, are other Nigerians that made the list. The duo of Roman Catholic’s Cardinal Francis Arinze, and the Senior Pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Enenche Paul, (both religious clerics) completes the number of Nigerians in the prestigious list. Further, the organizers noted that the criteria for selecting recipients for the award are Integrity, Visibility and Impact.

“The above luminaries are joined by other great Africans who are celebrated for their Social Impact, and Social Entrepreneurship, that are transforming businesses in Africa and affecting lives positively without controversy. Very prominent personalities featured in the list include Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed; South Africa’s Prof. Wiseman L. Nkuhlu, Chancellor of the University of Pretoria and Chairman of Rothschild (SA). On Governance: the list features two African Presidents, one Vice President and policymakers. On Business: South Africa’s Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Ethiopia’s Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu and Nigeria’s Folorunso Alakija are featured for their works across the globe.   • where is africa science and tec labs, space station, weapon design and manufacturing companies. When will africa feed itself ? Can Nigeria feed itself and all of Africa. Look out Nigeria the Europeans are watching you very carefully
