Being the New Year, I’m sure you are expecting to hear us talk about New Year Resolution. It is not bad, but it has been over-flogged and it is cliché now. A “commitment” people are “forced” to do at the beginning of every year (some do this because others are doing it. LOL. Shhh…Don’t tell them I said so). But seriously, some of us were born into such traditions and you just have to reel some RESOLUTIONS out every New Year and try to keep them but usually don’t (especially when no one is checking it for you).
Let me ask you, the year has come and we are few days into it, what did you resolve to do? Look through that list again, are you sure you haven’t repeated some of the things you promised to sort out last year. I’m not here to mock you, but to push you to have a re-think, stop in your tracks and allow your mind to have a REVOLUTION!
Yup, there it is, I said it. You need a New Year Revolution! What is a revolution? “An overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed.” In Sociology, it is “a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, especially one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence.” Another meaning says “a sudden, complete or marked change in something.”
Bottom-line is, there must be a change. We don’t need to toe the line of violence to achieve a revolution, but if you have to violently pull yourself from a certain mindset and bring about positive changes in your life and circumstances around you, then so be it.
Let’s begin this way, list out the things you want to have a revolution in and the requisite action will become clearer by the day.
