Nestlé Milo has partnered with ex-Super Eagles goalie, Peter Rufai, to take its football clinic to seven Nigerian cities during the last quarter of 2013. The event which kicked off on Wednesday of the past week will go to Benin, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Akure, Abeokuta and Lagos. It will conclude in Lagos, on November 16, with the theme “Let’s Build Champions”.
Rufai will be joined by other coaches to tutor kids on football. Nestlé says a total of 14,000 kids will be trained during the exercise. The Category Business Manager, Beverages, for Nestlé Nigeria, Doja Ekeruche, said “The clinic is a grassroots sports development programme, which is aimed to develop the champion spirit in children across the country. Through the clinic, the children develop the technical skills of the football games while also imbibing the lifelong social values learnt from sports-determination, discipline, respect, honesty and team work. This makes them champions not only in sports but also in life.”
“The clinic is a sports initiative/platform of Nestlé Milo in conjunction with Peter Rufai and FIFA certified European football experts to coach the children with the latest scientific techniques of playing football and also teach them the core values for success in the game of life.”
