Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, capped a brilliant performance for Leicester City with a fine goal in their premier league encounter against Newcastle United on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
The Nigerian was on from start to finish as the Blues saw off 10-man Newcastle to 5-0 at the King Power Stadium. Ndidi scored the fifth goal of the game for the Foxes in the final minute to complete a decent performance at the middle of the park.
The tall Nigerian midfielder collected the ball with his back to goal in the area before latching on to dispatch the ball beyond the Newcastle United goalkeeper. Sunday’s goal meant Ndidi has registered his second league goal of the season for the Foxes and is expected to continue his fine display for the English side.
Ricardo Pereira gifted the hosts the lead in the 16th minute of the tie, before a brace from Jamie Vardy, an own goal from Dummett, and a last minute effort from Ndidi saw Leicester win the game comfortably and climb to third spot in the league table.
Ndidi’s international teammate, however, Kelechi Iheanacho, was an unused substitute for Leicester despite scoring in their midweek Caraboa cup win against Luton. Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to make a league appearance for the Brendan Rodger’s tutored side in the 2019/2020 season.
