Leicester City coach, Claude Puel, has been thrilled by the performance of the young Nigerian forward, Wilfred Ndidi, for Leicester City this season. Claude Puel did not hold back praises to the player for his brisk very effective display of skill on the ball which has been quite instrumental in the club’s campaign for the season. Ndidi has successfully completed more tackles than any other player in Europe’s top five division, and the young Nigerian isn’t slowing down. As a result of this, Leicester City coach, Claude Puel said that the forward deserves an award for his work so far with the team. “Since the beginning of the season, Wilfred is the most consistent player because he plays well, he recovers a lot of balls and he deserves to be the best,” Puel stated in an interview with Leicester Mercury. “He’s improved a lot; he continues to work with good spirit in the training sessions, and is always correct.” He said. “He is a valuable player for us because we don’t have a lot of players with the same attributes. He has recovered a lot of balls, he is strong in the duels and now, when he plays simple with quality, he can give a good start in our play,” Puel added. Despite not scoring any goals in Sunday’s game, Ndidi was rated high in his performance for Leicester City as they defeated West Brom 4-1. West Brom drew first blood through J. Rondon in the 8th minute, however, J. Vardy evened the playing field in the 21st minute. The second half was the game changer for Leicester City. R. Mahrez put City the Foxes in the lead in 62’ minute, and in the 76th minute, Super Eagles forward Iheanacho completed an assist and scoring his first goal in 15 months for Leicester City. V. Iborra completed Leicester City’s 4th goal in the 93rd minute. Feature image: ThisDay Live
