We always begin the week by bringing you some of the best available music videos by Nigerian artistes. This week we have picked out 5 of our favourite music videos,
Funbi – Hallelujah
This January 2017 video was directedby King Davies, and, shows Funbi surrounded bybeautiful natural scenery, with the awesome Olumirin Waterfall behind him. Hallelujah is a Nigerian indie praise song to God for His favour and faithfulness, while praying blessings on everyone who is grinding hard on their hustle.
Johnny Drille – Halleluya ft. Simi
Incidentally, we have another “Halleluyah” video in this week’s favourite. The song was released on the 2nd of August, but the video didn’t come out until last week.
It is a love song about two people who love each but are unsure if their love will be reciprocated.
The video has Simi and Johnny Drille singing about their love from separate rooms demarcated by a wall. The melody is calm and soothing.
Adekunle Gold – Delilah’s Tale ft. Seyishay
Adekunle Gold recently released a very minimalistic video for his song, Delilah’s Tale. The entire video is shot in a dimly lit room with Gold, Sheyi Shay and a sofa. Delilah talks about a lady who takes advantage of a boy who has fallen in love with her. SheyiShay does all the singing as Delillah, who tortures Adekunle Gold emotionally.
Adekunle Gold – Damn, Delilah
In Damn, Delilah, Adekunle Gold has seemingly broken free of Delilah and has found his voice.
The video is equally simple yet beautiful. The creativity put into both of Adekunle’s work listed here cannot be ignored.
Poe – Adore Her Ft Funbi
Poe is the rapper in the Nigerian music group called Collectiv3 which comprises Funbi and Temi Dollface, Rapper Poe, rap duo Show Dem Camp, guitarist and producer Nsikak and producers IKON and Kid Konnect.
The video shows Poe and Funbi stranded on the road and are given a ride by two beautiful ladies in their yellow convertible Volkswagen Beetle. They soon become very acquainted. The video is also directed by King Davies.
