According to the Daily Post, telecoms company MTN has announced the resignation of its Nigerian Chief Executive Officer, Michael Ikpoki. This was announced this morning (Thursday) as cited in the news report.
The resignation has taken place amidst the company’s current case of a $5.2 billion (R71 billion) fine imposed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) over its failure to register customers.
“MTN Nigeria’s CEO Michael Ikpoki and the head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Akinwale Goodluck have tendered their resignations with immediate effect,” MTN informed investors on Thursday morning.
Ferdi Moolman will replace Ikpoki as MTN Nigeria’s CEO. The telecoms expert previously functioned as CEO at MTN Irancell.
