There is so much to learn from Bill Gates, the richest billionaire in the world in 2015, according to Forbes, with a net worth of $76.5 billion and several impactful initiatives under his belt. Microsoft co-founder, American business magnate, innovator, computer tech innovator and philanthropist has gained tremendous success from the application of certain principles that have been outlined in this post. These valuable principles are: 1. Have energy: The right energy is your driving force to success if channeled right – Energy from your passion, and even energy from eating right and exercising properly. 2. Have a bad influence Bill happens to be Harvard’s Most Successful Dropout, and this had a lot to do with his ability to influence others. Confused? Check out the video below. 3. Work hard Hard work pays off literally, considering that the level of input you put into a project is likely to determine the output. 4. Create the future It’s not enough to envision the future. You must create the future, putting in the necessary effort and planning needed to secure it. All work is futile without God’s guidance though, so don’t forget to do some “work” on your knees in addition. 5. Enjoy what you do When you enjoy what you do, you’re more likely to endure challenges when they come and give your all to your job, business or project. 6. Play bridge Yes, bridge the game. 7. Ask for advice Don’t take for granted the wisdom to be gotten from experienced entrepreneurs or professionals. This can save you from making unnecessary, costly mistakes that regress productivity and profitability. The best set of advisors are those who know and understand you well enough. 8. Pick good people You can’t go far without the right people in your corner, backing you up. People on your team must possess a good majority of the following: talent, skills, the desire to learn (if employees), experience, sound ethics, understand the corporate vision, trustworthiness among others. 9. Don’t procrastinate Get what needs to be done, done as soon as you can. If you’re physically limited, delegate it to someone else. Time is a precious resource that must be used wisely. 10. Have a sense of humour A good sense of humour can get you through the worst and best of times, so don’t be afraid to let loose and laugh every once in a while.
