Nigeria’s foremost media entrepreneur, and CEO of Ebonylife Media, Mo Abudu,is expected to chair the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala held in New York later this year.
The International Emmy Awards is held annually in November by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (IATAS) to honour the best television programs produced and aired outside the United States since 1973.
The world’s leading television producers showcase their programming and compete for recognition at the International Emmy Awards Gala where about a thousand international executives in the global television value chain, from broadcasting, production and distribution convene to honour global television’s best.
The International Emmy Awards in its 18th June announcement Instagram page said:

Abudu, in her response, said it was an honour to be chosen to chair the prestigious Gala, and expressed appreciation to the awards for the honour and opportunity
The media mogul described as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman” by Forbes, was listed as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global television by The Hollywood Reporter in 2013, was elected an Emmy Awards director in 2018, became the first African to be honoured with the MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur in 2019; an award given to senior executives who have significantly contributed to the development of television internationally and is a member of the jury for the 2019 Rolex Awards.
The 47th International Emmy Awards ceremony will hold on the 25th of November, 2019, preceded by the International Emmy® World Television Festival
