  Isaiah Bozimo is the Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Delta state. He is also a Partner at Broderick Bozimo & Company – a niche Arbitration and Litigation Firm in Abuja, Nigeria. The practice has its speciality in arbitration and dispute resolution. He is a graduate of Law from the University of Central Lancashire, UK. He has two Master’s degrees in Law, one from Queen Mary, University of London and the other from London School of Economics and Political Science.

Isaiah is known for delivering high-value settlements and victories. This has earned him recognition as one of the “Rising Stars on the African Continent by Africa Arbitration.” He has represented state-owned entities, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals in several ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations. Isaiah has also served as Sole Arbitrator and Co-Arbitrator under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA), the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Professional Experience

In addition to being a member of the International Chamber of Commerce and Fellow of Prime Dispute and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, his leadership abilities earned him an appointment on the Drafting Committee for Nigeria’s Arbitration and Mediation Bill. Isaiah has contributed to international publications, books, and guides in the field of International Commercial Arbitration, such as Rethinking the Role of African National Courts in Arbitration (2018, Wolters Kluwer), the Delos Guide to Arbitration Places, and the New York Convention Guide.

  • Sole arbitrator in an international concession dispute submitted to ICC arbitration, Nairobi Seat, Tanzanian Law.
  • Sole arbitrator in arbitration under the Lagos Court of Arbitration Rules arising out of a disputed financial transaction.
  • Party appointed arbitrator in an ad hoc arbitration with claims over N3.8 Billion, arising out of construction works for an infrastructural project.
  • Party appointed arbitrator in a dispute arising from an oil pipeline project and submitted to ad hoc arbitration.
  • Sole arbitrator in an ad hoc arbitration involving the interpretation of provisions of a commercial lease agreement.
  • Sole arbitrator in an ad hoc arbitration involving agency and corruption issues.
Isaiah has represented state-owned entities, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals in several complex disputes. He has also served as an arbitrator under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA) and in ad hoc proceedings under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Isaiah is a member of the Young SIAC Committee. He previously chaired the Advisory Board, Lagos Court of Arbitration-Young Arbitrators Network (LCA-YAN) and was an ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) Representative for Africa, the Middle East and Turkey. He provided strategic guidance and mentorship through free workshops for young African legal practitioners and students in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda.
