The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK Nigeria), in collaboration with the Tech Entrepreneurship Initiative Make-IT in Africa (GIZ), invited Nigerian startup founders to a 7-day guided tour to Germany to get a grasp of current developments in the market and most importantly: match their startup with companies, partners and investors. A selected group of brave, enthusiastic and like-minded entrepreneurs from all over the world will have the opportunity to explore some of Germany’s most promising hotspots, connect to peers and talents.
In July 2019, an announcement for a pitch competition for Nigerian startups was announced. The competition was solely for startups involved in Healthcare, Internet of Things, InsurTech, Logistics and Mobility and Smart City to win a free exposure trip to Germany to discover the diverse opportunities Europe’s biggest economy has to offer.
The pitch competition was held for the Conference which is tagged 2019 Start.up! Germany -NRW exposure trip. Out of a number of applications received, 9 startup founders passed the application stage and were invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and investors. Of the 9, 3 emerged winners of the competition and will go on to tour Germany for 7-days while learning recent developments in one of Europe’s largest economy.
The winners are Dayo Olujekun of StaffBus, Ruth Iselema of Bitmama and Adebowale Banjo of My Autogenius.
