More than a fitting farewell for a veteran coach who had proved himself over the years, a man driven by his passion, a man of great foresight and skill in the art of coaching and leading a team. As much as this should have been a happy moment, it wasn’t! The Emirates stadium was filled with so much pain you could feel it from just watching your tv set, as Arsene Wenger bade Arsenal farewell with a thumping 5-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League. Alex Iwobi was more than an unused substitute in Wengers last match, in-fact the player had everything to prove to his former coach before he would say goodbye, and Iwobi surely did in style. Before now, Iwobi’s performance for Arsenal had been quite lackluster and of-course goalless, and prior to the game against Burnley, it seemed Iwobi  was not making it rain yet. However, against Burnley, we saw an Iwobi that was desperate to let Arsene Wenger know his hopes in him were not at all misplaced. He made a first attempt on goal but missed, nonetheless he kept on the pressure and set up Arsenal’s first two goals assisting the assist, and in the 64th minute, Iwobi shined brightest with a superb shoot to the roof of the net, scoring Arsenals’s fourth goal, and just the right send-off Iwobi had in mind to give Wenger. After the match, Iwobi tweeted At the post-match conference, Wenger thanked Arsenal and fans for sticking with him for 22 years. “Thank you for having me for such a long time. I know that’s not easy but, above all, I am like you, I am an Arsenal fan, I would like to finish by one simple word: I will miss you. Thank you all for being such an important part of my life.” Wenger said.
