Marvel has released the official trailer for its Spiderman spinoff, Venom. The film features Nigerian actor Sope Aluko as Dr. Rosie Collins.
Plot
In “Venom”, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), following a scandal, attempts to revive his journalism career with an investigation of the Life Foundation. In the process, he comes in contact with an alien symbiote that bonds with him, and as long as they share his body, he possesses awesome superpowers. However, Brock will have to release his alter-ego “Venom” to save his life.
Although the character “Venom” was first created in Marvel Comics as far back as 1988, it only debuted on screen in Spiderman 3 in 2007. The character was inspired by a quote in the comic: “You’re Eddie Brock. I’m the symbiote. Together we are Venom.”
Sope Aluko
Aluko may have become a Marvel favorite, after acting “Shaman” the spiritual leader in Black Panther. Her role in the Box Office block buster, brought her special recognition by the Miami Dade county among other awards and recognitions.
Aluko has also featured prominently in major movies like Pitch Perfect 2 and Identity Thief, Law & Order SVU, Parks & Recreation, to name a few
Venom is set to be released on October 5, 2018.
