Nigeria Men’s U-20 football head coach, Manu Garba has called up 30 players to the Flying Eagles training camp in Kaduna in preparation for the forthcoming African Youth Championship billed for March 2015 in Senegal. Nigeria have been grouped alongside hosts Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Congo. Garba and his players will be aiming to win the trophy or at least get to the semifinals which will see them automatically book a ticket to the 2015 FIFA World Youth Championship in New Zealand. Manchester City starlets, Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidiebere Nwakali, head the list of nine professionals invited to the training camp. Granada CF’s Isaac Success and Taiwo Awoniyi of Kalmar of Sweden also made the cut. However, defender Aliyu Abubakar, who recently joined Israeli club MS Ashdod on contract for an undisclosed number of years, was omitted from the squad. In unrelated news, former Super Eagles midfielder, Dickson Etuhu has joined Swedish team, AIK Stockholm on a free transfer, as a replacement for Ghanaian youngster Ibrahim Moro, who will join Kazakhstani club FC Kairat on January 1 when the transfer window reopens.
