The Fayrouz L’Original regional competition which held on Saturday, the 7th of June 2014, at the Golden Royale Hall, Enugu was a truly exciting experience for all 10 teams, guests and students that graced the occasion.
The Safari themed competition which was hosted by media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, featured the designs of Applause, Belle Afrique, Creative Lights, Echo, Elan, Elite, Secret Project, Eureka, FIB and Loud Tribe; each team consisting of four: A Designer, Photographer, Make-Up Artist and Model.
Amidst the intensity of the regional competition, regional judges Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture and the creative duo, Gozel Green, revealed the winning teams to battle for the 20,000US Dollars at the grand finale are Team Elan and Loud Tribe.
According to Adebayo, “All ten teams did really well especially owing to the fact that most of them are not professionals yet. However, the winning teams displayed exceptional originality and creativity in their designs. Not only did their designs stand out, one can also see the cohesiveness in their works, which some other teams lacked.”
The star act for the evening was one of Nigeria’s finest vocalist, Praiz, who gave an exceptional performance of his hit songs and left the audience with goose bumps.
Also serenading the audience were international Nigerian acts, Ric Hassani and Avalla, who both gave outstanding performances and super talented DJ Spinall, who got everyone grooving to his beats.
Fayrouz, in a very applaudable manner, surprised the winning teams with brand new MacBook Pro laptops for each member and Nikon Cameras for the photographers in both teams.
The overly excited MUA in team Loud Tribe who went down in tears after her team was revealed as one of the winning teams, said she was beyond excited and grateful especially to the model in her team who inspired her and made her work very easy.
