Nigeria won yet another  Gold medal in Power-Lifting event at the on going Paralympics in London. 21 year-old Loveline Obiji capped a wonderful performance with a Gold medal in the Women’s 82.50kg category (PowerLifting). Obiji, who will celebrate her 22nd birthday next tuesday lifted 145kg to beat Egyptian Randa Mahmoud who settled for silver and Chinese Yanmei Xu settled for the Bronze. 29 year-old Opeyemi Jegede lifted 205kg to finish 4th in the Men’s 82.50kg category. Iranian Majid Farzin took the Gold medal while Chinese Xiao Feigu and Egyptian Metawaly Matharia took Silver and Bronze respectively. Things went awry for Nigeria’s Abdulazeez Ibrahim in the Men’s 90kg category as he couldn’t finish like the other competitors. Hany Abdelhady of Egypt took the Gold medal; Chinese Huichao Cai, the Silver medal and Pavlos Mamalos of Greece, the Bronze.
