LinkedIn, the social network owned by Microsoft now has 500 million users. It is recorded that these users hail from more than 200 countries. LinkedIn has over 9 million companies in which 10 million active jobs are being posted. This is a clear reason why it has more users as members visit this site on intervals to update their resumes and check latest trends.

A Boston company that tracks web usage- Apptopia, points out that LinkedIn had about 227 million monthly active users in January and grew to 240 million in February, 260 million in March and on Monday, it has 252 million active users for April.

The 500 million users places LinkedIn among the world most commonly used social networks as Facebook (1.8 billion users) YouTube (more than a billion users) and Instagram (600 million) while LinkedIn is above such likes as Twitter (313 million) and Snapchat (158 million).

Thus, the LinkedIn site has remained a professional site where businesses get connections and facilitate communication. The company emphasizes that “the impact of half a billion professionals connecting and communicating is very real and very accessible to anyone who wants to take part today.”
