Liberty Career Academy (LCA) has opened applications for its 2025 Scholarship Program — a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting young Africans who face economic barriers yet remain committed to achieving educational excellence, developing leadership capabilities, and advancing vocational skills.

This yearly scholarship extends beyond monetary assistance. It serves as a developmental platform that cultivates emerging leaders, supports educational aspirations, and provides future professionals with mentorship, community networks, and the tools necessary for building successful careers.

Ideal Candidates

  • Nigerian undergraduates with strong determination.
  • Students experiencing economic hardship, those who are orphaned, or from single-parent homes.
  • High-achieving scholars, community leaders, or social innovators.
  • Vocational students are passionate about their craft.

Award Categories & Eligible Candidates

  1. Adeola Okungbaye Memorial Award (Supporting Financially Disadvantaged & Orphaned Students)

  • Established to honour Adeola Okungbaye’s memory, this award assists vulnerable youth who remain resilient despite challenging circumstances.
  • Open to orphans or individuals from single-parent families.
  • Demonstrated financial hardship required.
  • Academic requirements: Minimum 3.5/5.0 CGPA or 220+ JAMB score.
  1. Merit-Based Award (Recognising Academic Achievement & Leadership)

  • Created for exceptional students who demonstrate both academic prowess and leadership capabilities.
  • Available to university/polytechnic students.
  • Academic standards: Minimum 3.7/5.0 CGPA or 240+ JAMB score.
  • Evidence of participation in campus or community leadership activities.

  1. Gifted Hands Award (Supporting Vocational & Technical Skills)

  • Targets creative individuals, craftspeople, and young professionals pursuing careers in practical trades.
  • Candidates must be 18–25 years old.
  • Currently participating in technical or vocational training.
  • Must be presently without employment.
  • Support may include equipment, training materials, or tools (examples: sewing machines, baking equipment, mechanical toolkits).

Program Benefits

  • ₦200,000 Financial Award for tuition or training costs.

Universal Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must meet these criteria:
  • African nationality with current residence or study location in Nigeria.
  • Enrolled in year 1–3 of a 4-year course or year 1–4 of a 5-year program.
  • Able to provide WASSCE, JAMB, and/or CGPA documentation.
  • Possess valid government identification (or guardian’s ID if applicable).
  • Write an original 500-word personal statement (submissions using AI content will be rejected).
  • Supply accurate, verifiable information — false details result in disqualification.

Evaluation Process

  • Recipients will be selected according to:
  • Academic achievement or demonstrated skill capability.
  • Level of financial hardship or leadership qualities.
  • Genuine expression, coherence, and enthusiasm in the personal statement.
  • Selected finalists may undergo interviews or additional document review.
