The late Steve Jobs is often used as a case study as one of the most unconventional, influential and talented business owners. He influenced business, technology, is a mentor to aspiring tech entrepreneurs worldwide and a part of pop culture. Here are five lessons entrepreneurs can learn from the Apple creator; 1. Be focused:Steve Jobs started his company in a garage and had an idea of what he wanted to produce. He knew he wanted to work in tech and pressed onward and today Apple has numerous constantly improving products in the market for targeted consumers from MAC to iPhones and the iPad. Steve Jobs was passionate about what he wanted and he worked towards it; emphasis on the word work. Passion and hard work go together. You need to be the image of what your company is projecting. 2. Have the right team: It is not enough to be passionate about your dream; a tree doesn’t make a forest and a business cannot be run alone. Steve Jobs became an icon because of the good heads he had working with him. If you are talented at design and not good with numbers, then you hire an accountant. You need people to offer services you can’t render and demand excellence in return. Learn to delegate. 3. Be consumer conscious: As an entrepreneur it is important to constantly ask, what’s next? Is my customer currently satisfied with what I am offering in the market? 4. Learn from failure: When you fall, pick yourself up and try again. In 1985 Steve Jobs left the company he co-founded and did not return until 1996 after which he revolutionized Apple. 5. Have a succession plan: How many Nigerian companies can run without their CEOs? How many companies have folded up after the demise of their owners? A solid succession plan is the reason Apple is still in existence today. These nuggets from Steve Jobs can help every aspiring and existing entrepreneur establish and grow their business.
