It will be recalled that the health of the veteran Nollywood actor became a concern to his fans and the entire public in 2019 after a video of his weak health status went viral online. Late Kasunmu went further to seek prayers instead of financial aid from Nigerians, citing that his ill health was of spiritual nature and not medical as many presumed then. The late actor equally debunked rumours in the December 2019 interview that said he had gone blind but revealed that he had suffered a partial stroke that seriously affected his left side and to some level, his sight, also describing people as โโtalking rubbishโโ when quizzed about his smoking habit as a lead cause for his poor health status.

But, they have also been praying for me in my church in Sabo, Yaba, LagosโฆThe doctors are just saying their own. They said I had a partial stroke.
