Zobo drink – also known as Zoborodo or Hibiscus drink – is a healthy and nutritious drink that’s simple to make and can be made at home. It’s extracted from the Roselle plant which belongs to the Hibiscus family of plants.
Notably, the ox-blood red drink is enjoyed in different parts of the world including Nigeria. Ghanians call it Sobolo and Australians, Rosella. It’s popularity is not surprising, considering its nutritious value and phenomenal taste.
This is how to make it at home:
Ingredients
5-6 cups of dried Rosella petals or zobo leaves.
Ginger (2-3 fingers).
2 sachets of Joccy’s Pineapple flavour.
4-5 litres of water.
Directions
Remove dirt and unwanted substances from zobo leaves.
Gently rinse leaves before boiling in about 4 litres of water
Add chopped up or grounded ginger
Boil mixture for another ten to fifteen minutes.
It’s ready!
