It is notable that the walls have the potential both to draw attention to the mundanely involved in the house and to grant it a bigger meaning. The wall is an important part of your home life. Imagine your guests staring at your unappealing wall every time, it reveals unconsciously the message of your personality and lifestyle, showing that you are particularly boring.
So, do not leave your wall bare. Here are few steps you can follow to spice up your walls:
Hang A Painting
It sounds simple right and perhaps cliché, but there is an art to adding an art piece on your wall. Getting the right focal point is fun, as it adds colour to your wall space.
As a general rule, hang the artwork so that the centre point of the piece or grouping is at approximately eye level. Before you go about handing the painting, a great way to test an arrangement is by laying everything out on a table or on the floor. Move the pieces around until you have an arrangement that you like.
Add shelving:
You can create more storage by adding shelves on the wall and at the same time, beautify your walls. It helps transform clusters into collections, the shelving can turn blank walls to statement markers.
You can use tiny triangles as shelves as you stick it to lonely corners around your home, floating shelves, burly shelves among others, to create a decorative, evocative piece that showcases all of your favourite things. Shelves filled with books dampen echoes and give the impression of well-read- cultured dwellers.
Create a pattern on your wall:
This is as simple as your imagination allows you. Design your wall with self-created patterns, draw out the pattern you want on your wall on a piece of cardboard or tracing paper, trace it out with a chalk, marker or cello tape, paint around the edges, or inside to get your desired pattern, repeat as often as you hope, and voilà.
Hang a favourite picture:
Pictures bring a familiarity for anyone viewing your home. Frames with family portraits leave you the cherished feeling that you are not just at a house but at a home. Whenever possible, use an invisible means for hanging, so that attention will not be distracted by an accessory. Nails, hook and nail combinations, and special picture hooks with adhesive backings are most commonly used. Pictures have a tendency to tip forward when hung. To prevent this, place the screw eyes for wire ¼ of the way down from the top of the frame. Pieces of foam rubber, cork or thumbtacks placed at the lower corners will also help pictures to lie flat and hang straight.
Use frames to add an artistic touch to ordinary household items:
Simple household items can be used to decorate the home, such as plates, children doodles, a mirror. A mirror reflects whatever is opposite it, Place the mirror so the reflected image is pleasing.
Charming wooden rulers, mugs, clipboards, duct tapes, old newspapers can be framed to bring exquisiteness to your home.
