Abo Akin, an adventurous designer, has designed the visuals for an innovative appfor first time travelers from
Lagos to London.
Abo Akin
The young man, who is based in London, is a Graphic Designer with well laid out plans. He holds a Master’s Degree in Design for Visual Communication from the University of Arts.
His app will be appealing to app developers and investors who are willing to invest in that which will shake the aviation industry.
The app will be valuable to Nigerians as it is aimed at bringing the Nigerian community in London closer together and helping with the popular questions short term travelers are filled with.
In his own words:
“…The main reason for this app which is for short term travellers is this (those who travelled to the UK for the first time, certainly for me I wished I had more information on the weather, the food, getting around etc this App will not only guide you through your travel but keep you connected to home away from home whilst you get accustomed to the foreign environment) and hopefully it may attract long term and permanent residents also as most countries around the world are embracing diverse culture.
“Nigerians travelling away from home may at first find it very difficult to settle but also its always a challenge to find Nigerian communities in and around the city you are going if you are travelling for the first time, so whilst you may be craving Jollof or pepper soup in your first week or two, you are being served baked beans and lentil soup.
“This app was designed to bring together the Nigerian community in London and it helps you with your travel plans such as booking a flight ticket, weather conditions, finding a Hotel, a place of worship, a Nigerian food market, or a restaurant (if you decide to cook or want to eat out instead), it also gives you information on how to get around in the city you are travelling to, for instance with London you get to know about oyster cards, contactless, trains and taxis.
“I have done all necessary research and all the visual design elements are ready, at this stage I am in need of an app developer and sponsors or investors. The goal is to first design the app for Lagos to London and then adapt it for the rest of the world’s cities. If you are interested in knowing more about the mobile app, the presentation is on my website.”
