This year’s Fair is especially exciting not just because of the opportunity to explore the leather industry through a vast range of dynamic leather designs and designers, but also because the talks bring together such an incredible collection of topics and impressive individuals. More so, beyond budding leather designers and creative entrepreneurs, there is something for absolutely everyone.

Here are a few of our 2019 speakers;

Chinyere Okorocha

Partner, Jackson, Etti & Edu

She is the past Chairperson of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, and has over 28 years practical intellectual property experience, which have led to local and international recognition as a thought leader on the subject.
 
She will be speaking on the topic: Creativity and the Law: How to Protect your Design and your Brand, on Saturday, September 7th at 12 NOON.

Mark Stephenson

Managing Director, Sandstorm

He is the Managing Director of Sandstorm Kenya, a luxury bag manufacturer headquartered in Nairobi, with seven stores in Kenya and Tanzania as well as online. 
 
He will be discussing Business Lessons: In Conversation with Mark Stephenson with Omoyemi Akerele on Saturday, September 7th at 4PM.

Tara Fela-Durotoye

Founder, House of Tara International

A Beauty Entrepreneur who pioneered the professional make up industry in Nigeria in the late 90’s. Tara is the Founder and CEO of House of Tara International. 
 
She will be speaking on the Art of Retail: Getting your Product to Market, on Sunday, September 8th at 2PM.

Thebe Ikalafeng

Branding and Reputational Expert

In a distinguished corporate career which started at Colgate Palmolive in New York and concluded as Chief Marketing Officer for NIKE for Africa, he has won over 75 awards in branding and communications globally. 
 
He will be discussing The Designer and their Brand: the Power of Storytelling on Sunday, September 8th at 4PM.

Diana Opoti

Founder, Designing Africa Collective

She is the founder of Designing Africa Collective – Kenya’s biggest multi-brand concept store – and is a veteran fashion consultant in strategy and communications.
 
She will be speaking on the Art of Retail: Getting your Product to Market on Sunday, September 8th at 2PM.
