The Lagos State public transportation system, LAGBUS, other wise known as Red Bus, has stated that despite the current scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS) in the state, its fare remains fixed. Interacting with followers on micro blogging site, Twitter, through its handle @LAGBUSOfficial, the governmentowned transportation system said it would not increase its fare while encouraging Lagosians to use the buses. “@LAGBUSOfficial: Despite stressed availability of fuel products & hike in transport fares, our prices still remain the same. Fixed. Use the RED bus always,” the transport company tweeted. Another handle also echoed what the agency said, tweeting; “@GidiTfare: The only affordable mode of transport in Lagos is @LAGBUSOfficial. Patronize them today and save more transport fare.” Over the weekend, Lagos State residents have witnessed scarcity of petrol as some filling stations are believed to be hoarding the product in anticipation of a hike in prices. Also, the transport agency also adviced Lagosians to leave work early and be patient at bus stops while queuing to board the LAG BUS.
