RevolutionPlus Property Development Company have joined the list of sponsors of the Lagos City Marathon.
Partnership for Lagos Marathon 2019
The Real Estate firm and the organizers of the
marathon signed a five year deal, which will begin from the 2019 edition of the race. The partnership was made public at a media briefing in Lagos with Project Consultant of the Lagos City Marathon, Bukola Olopade; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer RevolutionPlus Property Bamidele Onalaja; Executive Director RevolutionPlus Property Tolulope Onalaja; General Manager Lagos City Marathon Yusuf Alli, amongst others in attendance.
The executive director of the firm, Tolulope Onalaja, told the media that RevolutionPlus are very interested in the work of excellence that Access Bank Nigeria has done so far with the Access Bank Marathon, and that is why the firm decided to join in to sponsor the race.
“I was at this year’s edition of the Access Bank Marathon and I can say that my expectation was surpassed because I could see excellence at work. This is a good initiative, and immediately, we made up our minds to be part of this project. We are very happy to be title sponsors of this competition.
“We also discovered that the event has gained international recognition which RevolutionPlus wants to leverage on. The image of the marathon is increasing every year and we believe that our company can ride on this image of the championship. One thing you can’t take away from the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon was that on the day of the event, Lagos was always practically shutdown. The awareness is huge and everybody knows that a marathon is happening in town. So identifying with such a brand will definitely add values to what we are doing as a property development company.”

The General manager of the marathon, Alli, thanked the sponsors for their dedication to the project, he also went ahead to promise sponsors and fans that the organizers will not relent in making the Lagos City marathon totally World Class.
“The winning time for the men’s event at the Boston Marathon which was held last week was 2:15.58, meanwhile the winning time at this year’s Lagos City Marathon was 2:13.02. In the women’s event in Boston, the winning time was 2:39.54 while ours was 2:38.23, showing the calibre of athletes we are bringing in. We will not relent in our efforts to bring you the best athletes in the world.”
