Iconic Afro-jazz singer and saxophonist, Lagbaja, will be sharing the stage with Simi at the Johnnie, Jazz & Whisky concert. The live concert will take place this Saturday, July 28, in the Federal Capital Territory.
The event will take place at the Central Park Arena in Abuja. It will see Lagbaja give his first major performance since his absence from the spotlight for several years. Guests will be treated to various side attractions as they share in the delight of Johnnie Walker Black Labelâs distinctive flavours â fruity, tropical, creamy and smoky.
With a career spanning almost thirty years, Lagbaga has become a quintessential Nigerian artiste who has left his mark in the industry. The singer, born Bisade Ologunde, is familiar for his masks which he says represents the facelessness of the common man. Guests at the event will expect to experience such scintillating numbers as âKoko Belowâ âSurulereâ, âNothing for Youâ and âSimple Yes Or Noâ which were regulars on the airwaves in the early 2,000s.
Simi, on the other hand, recently released an extended version of her latest album Simisola. The deluxe version of the album includes two new remixes; âOriginal Babyâ remix featuring 2Baba and âSmile for Meâ remix featuring Sigag Lauren. Her career shot into the spotlight after she released ‘Tiff’ in 2014.
