CORA Art and Cultural Foundation holds its 15th Lagos Book and Art Festival from November 15 to 17 at Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos. It promises to be interesting, impressive and at least mind changing. CORA has made a culture of this festival and since it is dubbed “Africa’s biggest Culture Picnic”, you should expect a meeting of minds that is bound to expand your views and develop your mind in a way that is refreshingly creative. There will be sprawling book displays, live music, art exhibitions, drama performances, and discussions with literary minds on books, art and culture.
For the past 15 years, CORA has been bringing together families, literary and art enthusiasts, culture producers and children in this festival. What keeps them coming back is the way they are allowed to engage culture in a cool and relaxing manner.
This year, Julius Agwu, Nigerian ace comedian, will speak on the role books have played in his life, and Rotimi Babatunde, winner of the 2012 Caine Prize for African Writing, will talk about his craft and the Caine Prize experience. The Books of 2013 will also be announced along with live concert, drama and lots of fun-filled engagement for everyone.
What’s more? The festival is free and open to any art, books and culture lover! Come to Freedom Park with your Lagos story! See you at the LABAF!
