Nigerians took home several coveted awards at the eleventh edition of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs)  on Saturday, 28th September, 2015. The celebration of Africa’s best in the film industry took place in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, with filmmakers from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Angola, Mauritius and Ghana in attendance. Kunle Afolayan led the pack of Nollywood stars who won seven out of the night’s 27 awards. His blockbuster film, October 1 received three awards including Best Costume Design, Best Nigerian Film and Best Actor in a Leading Role given to Sadiq Daba who played Inspector Danladi Waziri. Other prominent winners include actresses Hilda Dokubo who was commended for her supporting role in the movie, Stigma and Kemi Lala Akindoju for her performance in Dazzling Mirage, a Tunde Kelani production.
