The Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF) have put their best foot forward as contingents of the federation landed Algeria on Wednesday for the Africa Youth Games (AYG). The delegation of the federation comprises of eight Judokas – four males;
  • Abdullani Ramon – 55kg,
  • Edwin Patrick – 66kg,
  • Samson Adekunle – 81kg
  • Madu Daniel – 100kg,
And four females;
  • Bose Folorunsho – 44kg,
  • Ogechi Udeze – 52kg,
  • Adija Azeez – 63kg
  • Grace Haruna -78kg.
With the team are two coaches, Catherine E. Ekuta and Toyin Ojo and the team secretary, Abimbola Adesinya. Prince Timothy Nsirim, President, Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF), strongly admonished the nation’s representatives to be disciplined in their affairs and refrain from any unlawful activity that may tarnish their image and that of the country.
I want to congratulate you for the opportunity the federation and by extension the government of Nigeria has given you to represent its course at the AYG. As you compete in the games, represent well and run away from anything that can tarnish the image of our country and remember that your effort will put your name on the world map” — Nsirim
Team representative, Madu Daniel, promised that the team will put in their very best to make the nation proud at the games. The Africa Youth Games will serve as the qualifiers for the Olympic Youth Games scheduled to hold later this year.
