Nigeria’s table tennis maestro and the best ranked player in Africa, Aruna Quadri, has moved up two places in the recent world tennis ranking released by the International Table Tennis Federation on Tuesday, July 2nd 2019.

Quadri was the world’s number 23 best player in June, however, after the July update, the Nigerian has now moved to 21st place, his best ranking so far in the year 2019.

Quadri’s best racing so far was in August 2018, when he was ranked 18th worldwide.

Among other Africans on the list is Egypt’s Omar Assar, who is the second best ranked African, ranking 58th in the world.

Next is fellow Egyptian player, Ahmed Saleh, who is ranked 118.

Another Nigerian, Olajide Omotayo, is ranked 128th best player in the world.

Segun Toriola and Bode Abiodun ranked 165 and 186 worldwide, respectively.

In the female category, Offiong Edem is flying Nigeria’s flag from the fourth best position in Africa. Offiong moved from number 150 to 158 in the ITTF’s July ranking.

Funke Oshonaike ranked seventh in Africa (female category) and 164th in the world.
