Apple announced its new products at its September 12 event yesterday. The next generation iPhones — iPhone Xs (pronounced ten s), iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone Xr, a new Apple Watch, iOS 12 and MacOS Mojave. While iPhone Xs is the incremental update of last year’s iPhone X, iPhone Xs Max is currently the company’s largest iPhone yet with a large 6.5-inch screen. The third device, iPhone Xr, is Apple’s idea of a budget phone.

One thing that’s clearly obvious is that Apple is finally letting go of the old proprietary iPhone design – the round home button and the bezels, in favor of the all-screen plus notch design seen on the iPhone X. This also includes Face ID instead of a fingerprint reader.

The iPhone Xs succeeds the iPhone X of last year, spotting 5.8 inches of Super Retina OLED display. The device is powered by Apple’s all-new A12 Bionic chip, the company’s first 7nm chip with 15% faster performance than the previous A11 model. It has a 7-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera, 12 MP wide-angle camera, and 12 MP telephoto lens. Interestingly, you can now adjust the bokeh level in portrait shots after taking them. They are three storage options, 64 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

The iPhone Xs Max features a really large display – 6.5” Super Retina OLED panel with a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The new screen is approximately the same width as the 5.5” panel on the iPhone 8 Plus, but the lack of bezels now allows for an extra 1” of display space. It still has the A12 chipset and the 12mp + 12mp dual rear camera, and 7mp selfie camera. It’s also available in 64 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

The iPhone 8 successor, the iPhone Xr has a 6.1” LCD display. It also has a single rear 12 MP wide-angle camera, unlike the other models that have two cameras. Apple iPhone Xr is also powered by A12 Bionic chip just like iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. It’s also the first iPhone to have dual sim feature which will cater for people interested in such things.

For those who aren’t ready to spend $1,000 or more on an iPhone, the iPhone Xr is your go-to device at $749. The iPhone Xs goes for $999 and $1,099 for iPhone Xs Max.
