iPhone users who long to be part of the WhatsApp community now have a reason to smile because WhatsApp for Web is now available on iPhone. WhatsApp Web has been available for Apple’s iOS operating system since January, meaning Apple users can pair the app with their computers like Blackberry, Windows Phone and Android users are already able to.
WhatsApp had earlier said that it couldn’t enable the feature for iPhone users “due to Apple platform limitations” but apparently, the company has worked its way around those limitations. WhatsApp for Web will now work with Safari on the Mac.
According to Hindustantimes, the feature was first noticed by Reddit users, who saw that WhatsApp’s website listed web support for the iPhone.
Interestingly, an iPhone user can get this feature without having to update WhatsApp from the iOS App Store first.
All you need to do:
1. Visit
web.whatsapp.com
2. Scan the automatically generated QR code to chat with people from their desktops.
The new service is being rolled out in batches so be patient if you don’t see it at first.
Recently, the service introduced many new features for iPhone users such as the option to mute an individual chat, mark a conversation as read or unread, back up videos and location sharing. Auto loading of older messages was also added along with better support for VoiceOver.
