PwC Nigeria, one of the largest professional services firms in Nigeria will be partnering with Spintelligent and the African office of UK company, Clarion Events Ltd to relaunch Nigeria as a mining destination through the iPad Nigeria Mining Forum. The iPad Nigeria Mining Forum is aimed at promoting the opportunities the mining sector offers to both the public and private sectors in the country. Cyril Azobu, mining sector leader and head consultant at PwC Nigeria explained, “The reduction in global crude oil prices has once again highlighted the need for Nigeria to diversify the revenue base of the economy and we hold strongly that one key sector which offers great potential in achieving this is the sold minerals sector.” It is worthy of note to know that there are major mineral deposits in the country’s North-central, North-east and North-west regions which remain untapped with around 85% of mining activities currently taking place in Nigeria through artisan and small scale mining.
