The success of the 11th batch means that 1,500 Nigerian women are now beneficiaries of the organization’s women empowerment scheme. Established in 2013, WEPPS is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative introduced by INTELS Nigeria in a bid to empower 5,000 Nigerian women over a period of 20 years by training them in fashion design and tailoring. Beneficiaries of the program who are usually drawn from different parts of the country, undergo training in two batches every year. Participants enjoy intensive tuition-free training for four months, inclusive of free transportation to and from training venues, free medical services, and monthly stipends.
