Ighalo’s deal with the English side is supposed to expire on May 31, 2020, but due to the delay caused by the corona virus, his deal is likely to be extended until June 30, 2020. The Nigerian’s current contract with Shanghai Shenhua will expire in December 2022, but the Chinese league outfits wants to retain the services of the former Watford FC star until December 2024.

Ighalo, 30, is flattered with the £400,000 a week (before tax) deal but might wait to see if he would be offered a new and improved contract by Manchester United before making a final decision as regards his future. Focused on seeing out his loan spell at United, Ighalo who supported the club as a kid and is now living his dream of wearing the red shirt might find it hard to resist Shanghai’s offer.
