The second edition of IDEA Conference and Awards will be held on 5th of October, 2013. The Interior Design Excellence Awards Conference is an innovative and highly regarded event providing thought provoking keynote presentations, best practice case studies and topical panel sessions for the interior design and allied industries.
Themes for the conference are “Nigeria’s Commitment to Sustainable Urban Development” and “Celebrating 50 years of Global Interiors”. According to the organisers, “This year’s conference will examine the key drivers for Urban Design and Interior Design with leading experts and practitioners from Nigeria and around the world gathering to discuss and demonstrate Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable urban development and global interiors.”
The organisers in a statement also said, “Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) is the premier awards for the Nigerian Architecture and Interior Design industry. Organised by Essential Interiors Magazine, IDEA was setup in recognition of the talents, contributions and success of Design in Nigeria.”
“It aims to help participants distinguish themselves within the design community and among the public; to advance the interior design profession through international recognition; to contribute to the value, health and safety of the nation’s built environment; to provide an ethical platform for architects and designers with varied skills and areas of specialization to develop their trade and industry; and to provide them with a global audience to showcase proudly Nigerian innovations. Through its efforts, the standard of regional design will be elevated to an international level.”
The conference intends to explore the power and practicality of Urban Design.
