ICreate Skills is a hub for skills development designed to equip youths with skills in demand. Through skills competition, training and exposure to best practices, iCreate Skills is building a skill ecosystem that is set to create 4 million jobs across the continent by 2030. the social enterprise is lead by a young founder Bright Jaja who was recently listed on Forbes Africa under 30 as one of Africa Game changer disrupting the Technical Education in the continent. 

In January 2019 iCreate launched a campaign to rebrand and  promote skills excellence across the country through the iCreate Skills competition, an extraordinary and innovative event using multimedia technology and mainstream to promote skills excellence and upgrade the profile and recognition of skilled professionals.

The event was scheduled to hold across 3 regions in Nigeria. North, South East, and South West. 

After a successful northern regional skills competition, which was held in Kaduna, iCreate hosted the southeast edition in Enugu at the Kobbs Civic Centre of Polo Park Mall, the event which held on the 19th -20th July showcased  50 competitors across 10 skills trade: Tiling, Carpentry, Plumbing, Tailoring, Makeup, Leatherworks, Art, Graphics design, Web design, Cooking. Competitors were required to execute a test project designed by the iCreate expert within 13 hours.

The 2day event was witnessed by hundreds of guest including government officials, students from technical colleges and employers of labor.

Also featured was a press conference held by the organizers and partners, this was directed towards informing the general public about the importance of skills in curbing youth unemployment and driving economic growth.

The event rounded up with an awards ceremony which is known as the iCreate Skills Awards, honoring skills excellence and celebrating the contestant for outstanding performers. The contestant with the highest scores was awarded medal, cash prize, and training in preparation for the first-ever National skills competition scheduled to hold in Lagos state on the 4th -5th December 2019 at the landmark event center.

Up next is the iCreate Skills National Competition a grand display of skills excellence, holding in Lagos state on the 4th – 5th December at the Landmark Event Center.
