If there’s one clothing item I would choose to wear for infinity, It’ll absolutely be denim. No matter how much progression it has made in the fashion industry, the denim seems to do no wrong and remains forever en vogue.
Denim is the most versatile piece a lady should have in her wardrobe. It can be worn for all occasions, and one never runs out of ideas on how to style them.
Not too long ago though, there was a bit of constraint to wearing denim to work. It was a major no-no because it wasn’t considered a professional outfit. However, these days more offices are adopting and embracing the casual-professional trend that comes with this look.
The key to pulling off the denim look to work is in creating a balance by styling it right.
Here are some fresh ideas on how to rock denim to work and still look professional.
Go for a darker wash
A darker wash jeans are better to achieve a professional look. Lighter denim tends to give off a too casual vibe and comes off as too laid back for work. But the dark ones convey an ‘I mean business’ message.
Pull it off with a blazer
Take the casual denim to a professional level by pairing them with a well-fitted blazer. It’s a great way to put your look together, be more classy and even professional.
Know the shoe that works
This is where it gets tricky because if you’re not careful on the type of shoe you pair with a denim, you’ll end up looking like you’re just putting on a Saturday get together outfit. It’s important to bear in mind that shoes matter. To jazz up the outfit and still be professional, opt for shoes that are standard for official use. Could be the classic pump; a shade of nude and black is simple and cool, ballet flats, strap heels, wedges or peep toes.
Accessorise
To add charm to your professional look, pair with fun accessories. It livens up your outfit, but remember to go easy on them, so you don’t look too loud for a work setting.
Go with a silk blouse
A silk blouse easily conveys softness with a feminine aura. You can tuck-in the shirt so it won’t appear dressed down. To make the outfit more cheerful try a blouse embroidered with sequins or just a blouse with simple patterns.
