On my board of directors you will find people who have reached the level of success I aspire to, mentors who share their insight, visionaries who challenge me to think bigger, professionals in my field, business partners and people who help me find my balance. Each one of these people adds perspective and all of them make me better. My mum and younger brother are on the board, they hold a precious position there and they are my touch stone, home base and shelter. The chairman of my board is Christ, without Him I can do nothing. When He endorses a project it is fully funded and richly blessed.
Your board is a resource and a commitment. These are the people you share your goals, action plans, ideas and result with. When you aren’t getting the results you need or when you feel “stuck,” these are the people who can help you sort it out. You may have two to ten people on your board; it may also start small and grow over time. The important thing is to begin thinking about who should be on it and begin building it now.
