Today I will be kicking off from where we stopped and I will be discussing the second part of my series “How to Become a Social Media Warrior in Nigeria.”
The following platforms are relevant social media platforms in Nigeria:
1. Facebook
2. Twitter
3. Google Plus
4. Instagram
There are others but to me and based on the Nigerian market, these ones are the “big boys”.
So let’s begin with Facebook:
Facebook has become the most dominant personal social network in the world, and it still remains the largest social media platform on the planet, with over 1.5 billion active users. That’s one in every seven humans on earth!
Because people are spending so much time on Facebook, advertisers and marketers naturally want to capitalize on this audience.
Facebook recently rolled in some new features, the most important being the “Audience Insights”. This feature lets you determine your possible audience size for a particular product or service and will show you how to access them easily. You would need to have a Facebook page other than your personal profile to access this feature.
Another feature is the “Facebook Insights” which lets you know how your efforts on your page are paying off; if you are making progress or not. It also lets you compare your brand with other brands, see what they are doing and mirror their efforts. A point of note is that for you to access this feature, your page must have at least 30 likes.
These features are used when you want to run a campaign of a Facebook Ad. All you need to do is to simply go to facebook.com/ads, click on a green button “Manage your ads,” click on audience insights located on the right hand corner.
Once in, you can see “create audience ” button; you can then input your data and get results, based on demographics, location etc.
With this information, you can place your adds based on the results its gives you.
I advice you play around with it and practice ahead because as they say, practice makes perfect.
See you in my next training, as I teach on how to run an ad on Facebook using your debit card (ATM card)
