Assian, Nigeria’s first and only fashion brand for the plus-size men, showcased under the Aboutthatcurvylife collective, and as usual revealed fashion-forward styles for the plus-size edgy guy.

Egbuonu Osuare, the founder of ‘
Osuare’ draws her inspiration from a cosmopolitan culture that has pervaded Africa in recent times to make African women proudly wear African-made pieces anywhere in the world and feel comfortable and sassy doing so. Her mini collection at the HLFDW 2017 under the Aboutthatcurvylife collective was exactly that; all prints and chiffon and silk.

Elie Kuame, the Paris based designer, always expresses his respect for women’s elegance through his designs. His collection at the HLFDW 2017, white, ivory and blue pieces, was for the classy busy woman who also likes to have some fun.

Think art, think
Gozel Green. The twins, Sylvia and Olivia, never cease to stun with their collections. The designs revealed at the HLFDW 2017 was all lines and structures and colour. Each piece spoke out loud to its audience revealing a unique character with each more overpowering than the next. Gozel green wowed yet again.

Samuel Noon, the popular red carpet designer revealed more of his fascinating feminine creations on the HLFDW 2017 runway. His chic tonal styles always spell sophistication and he didn’t fail to reveal that in this collection.

DZYN, a line owned by another two sisters, Ogwa and Ofure, prides itself on catering for every woman’s clothing need. From day dresses to evening wears to asoebis. Their collection gave all that with a little extra statement to each piece.

House of Kaya, a modest fashion line always dolls out pieces that do more than catering to the conservative woman. Its designs aim to accentuate the woman’s beauty with a style that says ‘I might not be edgy, but I’m chic too’.

Loza Maleombho likes to blend the old and new in her designs. This collection is a bit of a retro with bright prints combined with brown shades. It’s definitely for the adventurous woman.

Moofa stays true to her brand in this collection. She plays with versatile fabrics while paying attention to details. The blend of chiffon and organza is nothing short sophistication even though risque.

Orange Culture, a bespoke fashion brand owned by Davido and Adebayo Oke-Lawal, showcased a capsule collection based on Davido’s song,
IF. The collection is part of Selfridges’ Music campaign.

Rukky Ladoja and Obida Obioha started
Grey to bring affordable ready-to-wear clothes to the Nigerian market. Their designs which always celebrate culture continued to do that on the HLFDW 2017 runway. One could see the mix of culture and contemporary fashion from the streets in the pieces they showcased.

P.O.C’s designs always push for more in men’s fashion. It’s always like he’s asking men to step out of their comfort zones but without losing their masculinity. One could see that in this collection with the long cape-like tunics worn on bright coloured garments that dominated his designs.

Sunny Rose, Maureen Ikem Okogwu-Ikokwu, showcased a collection for the playful and daring woman.

Nori’s a woman wear brand based in Nigeria caters for every woman of all sizes and age. Showcasing under the Aboutthatcurvylife collective, it reveals chic designs for plus size women.
