Day 3 and the Grand Finale of the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2018 was everything we hoped it would be— nothing but pure magic. 

From clean cut regular pieces to brisk captivating collections and of course, great music — the big culmination of Africa’s biggest runway show has ushered in a new sense of style for the African fashion industry.

As the models chased the lights to the end of the runway and back, the typical side-talk from the guests could tell which designers were making a good enough impression, and those that ‘did not come to play at all’.

The likes of Mai Atafo, Orange Culture, and a few others, charmed and swaggered onlooking fashionistas with snazzy looks that uncloaked the beauty in the phenomenal blend of the western style and the African culture.

Mai Atafo

Mai Atafo, one of the last designers of Saturday night’s show, laid out an edgy ensemble of dominant native wears that owned the runway from start to finish — offering a variety of modish choices for both sexes. The design maestro also showcased a handful of his smashing signature suits, famous for their quality and faultless details.

Orange Culture

Dark, raw, classy, mystic, I could go on and on, just about how perfect Orange Culture’s collection was. It was clear, no other designer could have ended the show like they did.  It was totally a spectacle, and a flawless finish for the 2018 edition of the LFW.

Other designers that made quite the impression at the LFW finale are, XII, who gave guests quite the whirl with a bespoke collection of leisure wears.

Emmy Kasbit, on the other hand, showcased a creative set of alluring designs that told the beautiful story of the African style legacy, right from the 18th century.

Maki Oh, Nkwo, Tokyo James, Elie Kuame, TTYA, Adama Paris, Gozel Green, Iamisigo, Sisiano, Eki Orleans, Maxhosa by Laduma, and Meena, all also had their designs strut the runway.
