Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has been nominated alongside four others for the Most Valuable Player of Match Day 10 in the La Liga 2 Division.
The Nigerian was nominated based on his remarkable performance for Elche in last Friday’s encounter against Malaga. Uzoho is up against Real Oviedo’s Saúl Berjón, CF Reus Deportiu’s Juan Domínguez and Las Palmas Striker, Sergio Araujo according to the Spanish league’s website.
On his debut for Elche, Uzoho kept a clean sheet and made four remarkable saves for his side as they defeated Malaga 2-0.
Goals from Lozano Neyder in the 36th minute, and Martinez Borja, in the 63rd minute, helped Elche claim their second win of the season. Elche currently occupy the 17th position on the La Liga 2 table, with 11 points from 10 games.
Uzoho, who was in action for the Super Eagles in their double-header encounter against Libya, joined Elche on a season long loan from Deportivo de la Coruna, a Segunda division side where he made a name for himself, last season. For his perfect performance for the Spanish side, Uzoho may get another starting chance for Elche, when they host Real Zaragoza on Sunday.
