Remi Babalola is the founder and Chairman of Alternative Capital Partners Limited (ACAP), an advisory and portfolio management firm with focus on private equity and principal investments. He served as Minister of State for Finance between 2007 – 2010 and simultaneously held the post of supervising FCT Minister in late 2008. Before his appointment to the Federal Cabinet, Remi had extensive experience in the private sector in banking, auditing, consulting and strategy, most notably at PWC, Arthur Andersen, Zenith Bank (where he served as General Manager) and First Bank of Nigeria Plc (where he served as Executive Director). Remi is currently Vice Chairman at Law Union and Rock Insurance Plc and has previously served on the following Boards: First Bank of Nigeria Plc, First Funds Limited and African Export-Import Bank. He is a Fellow of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants (ICAN), Taxation (CITN), Bankers (CIBN) Directors (IoD) as well as West African Insurance Institute (WAII). Remi is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, University of Lagos and Lagos Business School. He has also attended executive management programmes at INSEAD, Stanford, Wharton, London Business School and Harvard.
