Flying Eagles to Submit World Cup Squad by 1st April

Nigeria’s U-20 men’s football team, The Flying Eagles are to submit to FIFA a 34-man provisional squad for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand not later than 1st April, 2015.

According to the team’s secretary, Ibrahim Aliyu Auwal “following a preparatory FIFA workshop meeting in Dakar, Senegal, 1st April  has been set as the deadline for all teams including the reigning African Youth Championship winners to submit a provisional squad for the U-20 World Cup – which will kick off on 30th May, 2015.”

Flying Eagles’ handler, Manu Garba is expected to name a core of the team that won the seventh African Youth Championship in Senegal on Sunday in his provisional squad.

It is also expected that foreign based stars such as: Isaac Success; Uche Agbo (Granada CF, Spain); Wilfred Ndidi (Genk, Belgium); Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City, England); Moses Simon (Gent, Belgium); Musa Yahaya (Tottenham Hotspur, England); Chidiebere Nwakali (Malaga, Spain) and Kingsley Madu (Trencin, Slovakia) will make the list after missing the AYC due to injury or club commitments.
